Dave, I think part of the problem here in understanding the other side are superficial labels dividing people into two camps: either pro-gun or anti-gun. That’s always the position of the NRA and the gun lobby. I simply don’t understand why someone can’t support the 2nd Amendment while also supporting some limitations via smart and sensible gun reforms? Why does someone who supports gun ownership broadly and generally, but opposes semi-automatic weapons, have to be labeled as anti-gun? This never made sense to me, unless one believes that the 2nd Amendment is absolute with no restrictions or limitations ever, for any reason. Was that really the intent of the Founding Fathers? The Supreme Court thinks otherwise—based on its rulings—as do some avid gun owners. Is there no middle ground?
