Dr. Yildiz: I have experimented with time restricted eating per intermittent fasting, and I have seen clear results. I'm 5'11 and my weight is down to 175 pounds -- pretty good for a middle-aged man. My wife and I usually finish dinner around 8:00 p.m. Then I don't eat again until the next day in the afternoon. The time fluctuates but I usually have a light bite anywhere between 2:30-4:30 p.m. Then the light late dinner, then repeat. Thus, I'm usually fasting at least 18-hours (if I did the math correctly). And the other good news is I've been able to consistently maintain this weight, even if I occasionally have a late night snack after dinner. Thus, this intermittent fasting approach is a real winner for me.
