Good choice, Stephen. There’s no shortage of writers to follow on this platform. So why not follow those who take the time to reciprocate with the engagement you gave them? I would unsubscribe to any follower who totally ignores you. The last point I want to make is that even if you don’t follow a person you can still engage with their content. Speaking from experience, a follower to following ratio is a vanity metric. But, unfortunately, vanity metrics are all too commonplace on social media and other interactive digital platforms. It’s just proper etiquette, at least in my book, to follow the age-old advice that one good turn deserves another. Give people the benefit of the doubt initially because everyone is overwhelmed and super busy and this frenetic 24/7 breaking news Information Age. But if someone you follow is still consistently ignoring you, yeah I say F-them!
