Even though we haven’t become AI yet per se, writers are in competition with it. As you know, AI is increasingly being used in Hollywood and by the news media, it’s just two small examples. But human creativity and self expression is something that AI will never be able to match, even in the future if AI develops consciousness (the so-called Singularity event which leads to them over us). It’s also an issue here on Medium. So even though we have not become AI, per se, we are competing against it. Unfortunately, AI beats us too often.
