Maria Cruz: You are correct, I found your article not only interesting, but also eye-opening, enlightening and educational. I even edited my article above to include yours within, as you share a wealth of important information, data and testimonials to further enhance understanding of the gender gap on English Wikipedia and what’s being done to close it — albeit incrementally, if not infinitesimally (depending on whom you ask, of course).

We should all remember that English Wikipedia is just one of many multi-lingual Wikipedia sites and projects. The other Wikis have a much higher percentage of women’s bios, content and volunteer editors. The irony is that one might expect the situation to be the opposite, at least from an American’s ethnocentric vantage point (which many outside the USA consider arrogant and ignorant, and perhaps with good reason).
