Mike: In addition to being more transparent with users—which I wrote about it—I think the corporate leadership of Medium should make a wise investment in allocating more of its profits to strengthening cybersecurity across the platform.
I’m happy Medium is eliminating bad actors from the platform, but I also feel badly for the innocent members/users who are swept up in this dragnet. There’s a right way and a wrong way to remedy these security issues. And it’s in Medium’s best interest to do it the right way in order to maintain its brand image, brand loyalty and user satisfaction. This should be a no-brainer for the “brain trust” running the company.
