On a cosmic level, humanity on Earth is in fact insignificant and infinitesimal. Consider that the universe is estimated to be approximately 14 billion years old. The Earth is estimated to be approximately 4.5 billion years old. But the modern human species (Homo Sapiens) are a mere 300,000 years old, according to scientific estimates. Or, to put it another way, we are a quantum blip in time. We exist for less than a nanosecond compared to the age of our planet and the age of the cosmos. Yet human arrogance is only exceeded by human arrogance. Is it any wonder the world is such a mess?
