Of course my intention was not victim blaming — to the contrary, it was to help empower victims to seek out justice and punish perpetrators of sexual harassment, assault, stalking and other abuse of women. Moreover, sometimes a sound approach is to be overly cautious of those you don’t know or trust, in addition to taking an approach of proactive prevention.

I’m a former career media spokesman for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) which, among other things, fights to eliminate sex discrimination, harassment, wage bias, and unequal pay for women in the workplace.
