Sarah: Thanks, as always, for sharing your important insights and astute observations. I think the bar should be set much higher for transparency for government social media and websites — as gov employees are “public servants” whose salary is paid by American taxpayers. However, I’ve too often seen gov “spin control” online for political reasons (especially under Tyrant Trump), which is disheartening. Gov transparency must be the rule, not the exception in a free and open democracy. Moreover, gov agencies which fail foster transparency with citizens should be held accountable by Congress via committee oversight and budget cuts.
