You are correct, not only does the monster manager “never win in the long term” but neither does the company/organization. Employers who turn their heads while monster managers poison the work culture will lose talented employees and gain a reputation for condoning a toxic workplace. That infamous reputation will subsequently hurt the employer in trying to recruit the best talent, who will usually go the competition — in addition to the other negative repercussions I point out in the article. In short, monster managers create a lose-lose-lose outcome for themselves, their employer and the workforce.
