That’s awesome that you received a boost, Tommy. Kudos, as that is validation of exemplary writing and command of subject matter, etc.— and what writer doesn’t want validation?

However, I would give this Boost Program a big thumbs down. Yes, I’m glad Medium has it — rather than nothing — but let’s just say Medium really (boosted) over-hyped the publicity for Boost to the umpteenth degree.

Boost appears to be all bark and no bite. And that’s insulting for writers on Medium.

I would think that any article Medium “boosted” would make a minimum of hundreds of dollars, and ideally thousands, due to Medium putting it in front of a much larger audience — especially if average monthly readers on the platform are anywhere close to 100 million, as Medium boasts.

But let’s recall that data is easy to manipulate when you own it.

Lastly, Medium should boost BONUS MONEY For WRITERS and INCLUDE MORE OF THEM who ARE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE A BONUS.

IF NOT, writers will abandon Medium when they have enough followers (a subjective number) and move to Substack or something similar to Medium to enhance monetization of their content.

Any thoughts on this, writers?
