Turner Rentz, III — thanks very much for taking the time to share your important insights, with which I agree. Trump is indeed an indelible stain on the presidency and will likely be remembered by historians as the worst American President ever.

I think the key going forward is for Senate Republicans to find their backbone and confront Trump, especially Sen. McConnell (the majority leader) who controls what legislation goes to the Senate floor for votes. The GOP must put patriotism over partisan politics and act in the national interest, not their own self-interests.

At this point anyone is better than Trump, who is a reckless and nefarious narcissist with no regard for the Constitution, democratic principles or rule of law. Yes, he might be an illegitimate president and also an agent of Russia/Putin seeking to undermine democracy worldwide by weakening the USA and destroying our global alliances which have fostered fundamental freedoms since the end of World War II.

The stakes going forward could not be higher. May God Bless America during these turbulent times — and always.
