Understood, not everyone sees the USA as an honest broker, especially the Palestinians. However, I believe Israel would insist the United States negotiate by its side. I’m not suggesting that the USA should by any means be the only country which is party to the negotiating, quite the contrary. This needs to be a multi-lateral effort which ultimately must be approved by the UN. I would just note that America is by far the biggest financial contributor to Israel, with billions annually and a $13 billion emergency funding bill pending in Congress. Plus the United States has always been the best friend of the Jewish State since its creation, which would not have even been possible without Americas overwhelming global influence and support. So for all those reasons, I do not foresee any international negotiations in which America is NOT seated at the table next to Israel and playing a leading role. But I’ve been known to be wrong before…
